About the Author

Tening Liu, a Chinese American who migrated from Taiwan to the United States in 1970, completed an MS and PhD at Southern Illinois University. Under Dr. Maurice Ogur, Tening pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Texas. As a professional scientist, Tening collaborated with a UC Berkeley professor, obtaining several patents. Raised in a family with high academic standards, teaching high school science for eighteen years introduced Tening to writing. Retirement provided time to revisit writing, focusing on China’s evolving story, with family members playing significant roles. Tening’s bilingual education and family values offer unique perspectives on China’s society, aiming to enrich understanding through their book.
