About the Author

Beth Frigard is the founder of Preachinggreen.com, focused on preserving our Natural world, and The Poetry Workshop, heralding the unlimited potential of poetry.

She received a BA in Psychology from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and a Masters of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Massachusetts and is Ordained in the United Church of Christ.

Thursday afternoons, Beth would find herself reflecting on the world outside her window in Holliston Massachusetts. She had found writing poems to be an exceptional means to enhance appreciation for, and connection to Nature, as well as to one’s self.

In 1992, she established The Poetry Workshop, through which she led programs in numerous care facilities in the Boston Metropolitan area, and published three books for Activity Directors, all a Celebration in Poetry. She received grants for programs in area schools.

With the death of her husband, Beth, with their dog Rumi, moved to Tucson, Arizona, where her Thursday reflections continued as did her Workshops, but with the desert as inspiration.

Now in her hometown of Elmira, New York, with cats Maddie and Stella, Beth continues to be amazed by poetry’s unlimited potential, and deeply concerned with the plight of Mother Earth.
