What Did The Prince Of Peace Bring Us?

In John 10:10, Jesus said- I came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

In Hebrews there is a prayer in 12:20-21, Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete (perfect) in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Now we already know and realize that the Lord’s intention on perfection for us is not that we won’t make mistakes.  The word complete or perfect in our Father’s eyes means to have the completeness returned to us that was lost in the natural man.  Again, in our flesh the scripture says there is no good thing. That is why spiritually we have been crucified with Christ.

From our Heavenly Father’s view we were not perfect or complete without Him( to me that is a no brainer!).We were bankrupt morally and spiritually.

However our Great Prince of Peace came to fix the huge divide. In Colossians 2:9-10, For in Him ( Christ Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is head of all principality and power.

Paul goes on to tell us how to live this out in five verses: Colossians 3:12-17, Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness and longsuffering; bearing with one another, if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things, put  on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts , to which you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Jesus is our Prince of Peace for in Him we have peace with our Heavenly Father. We also have that special peace that goes beyond understanding when all around us is chaos. We have Jesus Christ and in Him, we have the great opportunity to pray( talk) with our Heavenly Father by the presence within us of His Holy Spirit.  Guess what, He hears and answers us too!  Talk about Peace! Amen!!!

What a day to celebrate our Lord Jesus! Hey, we don’t have to wait until next Wednesday to celebrate, we can rejoice today—- For with Christ, we have the good news everyday. Praise God everyone!

Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas and Safe, Healthy and Peaceful 2014.  You are precious in His sight, look for His touch of love in your days.
