Dr. Sherry L. Meinberg

“My life is full of stories. I am a lifelong bookworm!” says Dr. Sherry L. Meinberg. “I read books, I share books, I write books, I edit books, I donate books. I eat, sleep and breathe books.”

When she retired from teaching in the Long Beach Unified School District (after 34 years), Dr. Meinberg owned several thousand children’s books, which is why she had also become a school librarian. Dr. Meinberg later became a core adjunct professor, and supervisor of student teachers, at National University. She retired again (after 16 years), realizing that she had been an educator for 50 years, and figured that her freshness date had long since passed. But her love for teaching was too strong, so she then taught creative writing classes for senior citizens, through the Oasis National Education Organization. Even her car license says READ4ME, and its license plate holder says SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME. On two different occasions, when she returned to her car after shopping, she came upon a small crowd of people, who were looking at her license plate. They had taken bets as to whether she was a teacher, a librarian, a professor, or an author. And she happily said that they were all correct! She has been honored with numerous awards. During her 50 years as an educator, she also had the dubious honor of being the longest-stalked person in the nation. Dr. Meinberg is all about raising awareness and opening doors. She is all about getting the word out. Now I Ask You . . . is her 24th book.
