\"\"Phil S. Dixon<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Phil S. Dixon<\/em> enters his fifth decade as a tireless researcher, author, presenter, and interviewer of sports-related topics. He continues his legacy as one of America’s foremost experts on baseball and other history-related topics. He is an active member of SABR (The Society of American Baseball Researchers). Dixon is a Humanities Kansas presenter and a past Missouri Humanities speaker who also serves on the Board of Governors for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, an organization he helped co-found in 1990. As a coach, he led youth baseball teams for over thirty years.<\/p>\n

Dixon knows baseball inside and out. He presents regularly to academic audiences, libraries, historical societies, and community organizations, where his services remain in high demand.<\/p>\n

Various luminaries have reviewed and praised his prior works, from Baseball Commissioner Fay Vincent to Stephen Jay Gould, the famous American Paleontologist. Dixon is a proud recipient of the prestigious Casey Award winner for the “Best Baseball Book of the Year, 1992,\u201d and a SABR Macmillan award winner for his excellence in baseball research. His recent book on John “Buck” O’Neil captured the Jackson County Historical Society’s “Best Local History” award.
