About the Author
Daniel F. Ilich is C.E.O. of Unitron Products Inc. Unitron established in 1957 is a unique company in high speed metal forming having one of the largest capacities on the east coast.
In the early stages of Unitron, Mr. Ilich was involved in building special units for color photography, and then devel-oped and built high speed cameras used on the U-2 reconnaissance flights. He is also the president of Drive Enterprises and Zulette Realty Corp.
Mr. Ilich is a recipient of the National Design and Engineering Award in 1976. This award was presented to him in French Lick Indiana. Numerous patents were developed in his name since then.
Mr. Ilich became a chairman of YMCA in 1982 and served as such for a period of 14 years. In 1975 he also joined a fraternity or-ganization Kiwanis International, and in 1995 became Lieutenant Governor, servicing the local children and the children of the world. He has served as a director of The Bronx Chamber of Commerce and was a founder of Albert College of Medicine.
On Oct. 1, 1993 he received an Award from Vietnam Veterans of America and Citation of Merit from Borough President Fernando Ferrer. On Feb. 29, 1996 he was awarded by American Red Cross of Greater New York. In the year 2000 he received an award Certificate from Veterans of Foreign Wars and in the year 2002 he received Commanders Club Award from Disable American Veterans. He has been awarded by: Mayor’s Dinkins and Koch, Congressman and Senators as well as President Bush for his contribution to our society and is a life member of the Presidential Advisor Committee, Washington, DC.
