Beyond performance, he is a prolific songwriter, playwright, and author, with over 400 compositions and acclaimed works like “Marginal Saints,” 2003 New York Fringe Festival Winner transformed into a film and The Greatest Football Player of all time Jim Brown Unplugged. His artistic ventures expand into filmmaking with BSMF Films and LuNeIs Records. For four decades, Blackwell’s dedication to education shines, mentoring at various institutions and fostering creativity as the former artistic director for Neighborhood Studios.
